“I have never sought out the extraordinary or the scoop. The beauty of the ordinary was always the source of my greatest emotions”
~ Willy Ronis
(1910-2009)
Willy was exactly what his work was, a deeply sensitive, kind, intelligent and positive man. The great Edward Steichen included his work in two seminal exhibitions at The Museum of Modern Art in New York , “Five French Photographers” 1951 and “The Family of Man “1955. I was due to give him his 100th birthday party in his favourite little restaurant near where he lived but he sadly passed away just a few weeks before.
This is an extremely rare signed large print of one of his most sort after images. It is the epitome of French charm. The baguette is almost larger than the little boy himself whose feet seem to not even touch the ground in his urgent mission.
