“In the fashion pictures of the 1950’s nothing like Klein had happened before
He went to extremes which took a combination of great ego and courage” ~ Alexander Liberman
(1912-1999)
Bill Klein changed. Fashion photography. Like no one else before him.
He was a “no holds barred” kind of photographer which means he conducted his professional life without any limits, rules or restrictions, allowing for a completely free, or even “ruthless” approach. Within two minutes of meeting Bill you knew who he was and who you were dealing with. A refreshing honesty whether you agreed with what he said or not. What we would call “a unique character” but with a formidable talent.
