"Photography is a unique visual language that cannot be expressed in words. As a matter of fact, if it can be expressed in words, then it probably isn’t worth photographing."

~ Charles Harbutt
(1935-2015)

Charles was an exceptionally gifted photographer, as witnessed in this striking image blending architectural form with an abstraction of light. Harbutt was a respected Associate Professor of Photography at Parsons School of Design, he played a pivotal role in mentoring and inspiring a new generation of photographers. Beyond the classroom, he served not just one, but two terms as President of Magnum Photos. A true testament to his unwavering commitment to the photographic medium.
