“They are deliberate or involuntary wanderings because my mind is always in photo mode from morning to evening, and sometimes at night too! If I’m on my way to an appointment, for example, and en route something moves me, I try to take a photo the moment it touches me. If what touches me is a person’s attitude, or a situation, I get closer. The blurriness records my movement in the direction of the person. That’s why there are often photos that aren’t very sharp. I never take deliberately blurred shots.”

When I came across this photograph, it stopped me for a moment. There’s something quiet and powerful about it — birds caught in a moment of transition that feels both delicate and determined. Dolores had a way of noticing these small, passing scenes and turning them into something lasting. This image reminds me of how fleeting beauty can be, and how an artist’s eye can hold onto it, if only for a moment.
