I recently watched the new, great Kevin Macdonald documentary “One to One” on John Lennon and Yoko Ono. I was struck by how relevant John’s deep, political stance was to what we are all living through today. One can easily substitute Nixon for Trump, Vietnam for the Ukraine and all the other “events” the film shows like the Attica Prison Riot. Not that much has changed or real progress made. The concert footage is so well presented and John’s heart wrenching performance of the song “Mother” is just so haunting and the key to really understanding his unique personality.
One can but hope and imagine a better world.
