“I have been poor and I wanted to document poverty. I had lost a child and I was obsessed with birth. I was interested in politics and I wanted to know how it affected our lives. I am a woman and I wanted to know about women”

~ Eve Arnold
(1912-2012)

Eve was a pioneering photo journalist who was unflappable. Her work was very special and she was invited to join the prestigious Magnum photo agency and became one of their stars straight away and one of their most sought after photographers. She died in London at the age of 99 years old and left us an extraordinary archive full of images. It is full of wonderful treasures including this rare and tender image of a new life.
