“My dad used to have an expression. It’s the lucky person who gets up in the morning, puts both feet on the floor, knows what they are about to do and thinks it still matters”

~ President Joe Biden

“We must never forget that art is not a form of propaganda. It is a form of truth”

~ John F Kennedy

I grew up in England and for some reason was totally interested in American politics from a young age much more so than English politics. JFK seemed heroic to me and like so many of the readers of this blog, we remember where we were when we found out about his assassination. It is so easy to fall into a despondent mood given what is going on in the current political arena but the other day I felt a glimmer of hope when I got this message in my in box from President Biden. Perhaps you got the same message too. It moved me. I live with this portrait of Senator Kennedy full of hope for the future and a profound sense of a calling. It reinforced Biden’s words.
