#1113 - Henri Cartier-Bresson

“For me, the camera is a sketch book, an instrument of intuition and spontaneity"

~ Henri Cartier Bresson

“It is still color, it is not yet light”

~Pierre Bonnard

Henri went to visit the great painter in the South of France in 1944 just three years before he passed away. Sitting in front of a radiator in a sparse white room amongst various studio materials Henri captures his essence and pays respect with such tenderness and insight to someone he obviously had great love and respect for.

It is one of the greatest photographs of an artist I have ever seen.
