#1077 - Sebastião Salgado

“The working class for me was the most important element of industrial and agricultural production.”

~ Sebastião Salgado

Today we celebrate Labor Day, a day to honor and celebrate the hard work, dedication, and contributions of workers everywhere. Your efforts drive our economies, build our societies, and shape our future. Whether you're in the office, in the field, in a factory, or working remotely, your commitment is valued and essential. Take this day to relax and reflect on your achievements.

My longest and most intense professional collaboration has been with Sebastiao Salgado. We first started working together over 30 years ago when Henri Cartier-Bresson and his wife Martine Franck first introduced us. It has been an amazing journey as I have watched him develop his epic photo projects with such passion and dedication and execute them to the highest professional and ethical standards. His body of work "Workers" is no exception and some of the most unforgettable images I've ever seen.
