Johnny Cash
#1044 - Norman Seeff

“You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy or any of your time or any of your space."
~ Johnny Cash

“A photographic session is a joint interpersonal exchange, a kind of creative encounter session at a high level of intensity. For me , photography is more a process of creating an experience than one of looking for pictures.”

~ Norman Seeff

Johnny Cash led one of the most remarkable creative lives in the history of popular music. A life full of ups and downs, brightness and darkness, hitting both the highs and lows in a constant flux of extremes. But the music is there and the persona is strong. Norman captures his essence beautifully. If there is just one word that describes his life most accurately for me it has to be “Redemption”.
