#957 - Steve McCurry

"A picture can express a universal humanism, or simply reveal a delicate and poignant truth by exposing a slice of life that might otherwise pass unnoticed."

~ Steve McCurry

Steve McCurry has been a dynamic voice in contemporary photography for over 30 years. He's documented everything from conflict, to ancient traditions, contemporary cities and distant lands. Many remember his image of a young Afghan refugee with piercing eyes—the June 1985 National Geographic cover—which has become one of the most recognizable portraits in photo history. This is another gem by Steve that we should all see. A raging dust storm in India challenges man and beast. It's a classic story of survival, flawlessly executed by a great photographer. Enjoy!
