Fred Lyon spent more than 75 years devoted to photography, and there is a wonderful curiosity that runs through everything he does. His photographs have a sensitivity to them, a way of finding poetry in the everyday.
I had the great privilege of knowing and working with Fred, and he was every bit as remarkable as the photographs he made. He had that rare combination of intelligence, wit, and warm that made spending time with him such a pleasure.
Fred was a wonderful artist and an even more wonderful human being. Knowing him, and being able to share his photographs with others, is one of the great pleasures of my life.
