I know I’m not alone in saying that much of my deep appreciation and love of classical music comes from being exposed to Lenny’s performances and recordings of all the great composers he championed and interpreted, not to mention his own amazing compositions.
He was indeed the greatest ambassador for music ever, and his passion was just contagious.
The sheer drive and energy he exuded made him a force of nature.
He inspired so many to follow his lead in dedicating their lives to spreading the joy that only music can give.
I feel so lucky to have met him in the early 1970s. He was gracious and kind with his time and knowledge.
