Made in Chicago in 1959 while Ray Metzker was studying at the Institute of Design under Harry Callahan and Aaron Siskind, this photograph belongs to the remarkable body of work he made while exploring Chicago's Loop. Metzker later wrote, "The Loop was not so much the idea to be expressed as the situation or location wherein the camera and photographer find meaning."
