This image taken by Louis in 1957 could have been taken yesterday. New York is always in a state of change and re-development. Berenice Abbott realized this in the 1930’s and Louis realized this in the 1950’s. A group of men peer through a hole near a building site. It ignites their curiosity, as it would in all of us. This is the pulse of one of the most exciting cities in the world and it continues to this day. But we can tell it is the 1950’s, when all our fathers seemed to wear the same overcoat and hats right?
