“May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young”
~ Bob Dylan
I first became aware of Bob Dylan’s music in October 1962 during the Cuban Missile Crisis, for those of you out there who might remember. At that time, I was standing in the schoolyard. We were all so terrified that World War III was about to break out and that none of us would ever reach adulthood. It was all going to be over.
Then, over the outdoor speakers, on came someone singing in a gravelly voice: “The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind.”
Well, the world didn’t come to an end. We are all still here, and Bob is still touring his heart out.
Happy 85th, Bob.
