In reality, no other 20th/21st-century photographer has covered the breadth of subject matter that Sebastião did. He went to extraordinary physical and psychological lengths to help us understand the world and its humanity like no other photographer in the history of the medium. To say his vision was “epic” would be a complete understatement. Fortunately, we are the beneficiaries of his drive and passion, and the insight he gave us seems even more relevant in the times we are living through now.
