#1939 - Robert Doisneau
“There are days when the technique of an aimless stroll without time table or destination works like a charm, flushing out pictures from the non -stop urban spectacle."

~ Robert Doisneau
(1912-1994)

Robert was a committed “flaneur” in order to discover all the inner secrets of Parisian night clubs and cabarets. A true “night “ owl. Here he is shooting from the balcony of a club on Rue de Lappe. It helped that he also had a wicked sense of humor. Probably a tired performer in between shows accidentally rests her arm on an amusingly surprised patron much to the displeasure of presumably the man’s wife. You cannot stage magic moments like this. It just happens and Robert was there to record it. I guess as they say he was at the right place at the right time.
