I first met Flor close to 40 years ago at Foto Fest in Houston. She was being honored for her exhibition “Witnesses of Time”. I was just left speechless having viewed it, it was that powerful. At the time her English was very spare as was my Spanish. We met and I touched my heart as the tears were flowing. This was the image that made me want to work with her. It was just so humbling and said everything. We still have that deep connection and respect for each other to this day.
