“Recording the light of the outer subject can be linked with gaining access to one’s inner light”~ Paul Caponigro(1922-2024)
I am in Paris for Paris Photo and just got the news that dear Paul has passed. I have been so fortunate to have met many extraordinary people in my long association with the world of photography but one of the true greats has been Paul Caponigro, not only as a unique artist but as an extraordinary human being. He has been a constant inspiration to me for 40 plus years .. the beauty and power of his work only grows daily. His kindness and grace in the way he conducted himself and his unique voice will always be part of me. The gifts he has given to so many will never be forgotten and his light will never dim. RIP
