It’s hot out there. But now is the best time to revisit one of the greatest music documentaries ever made:
Bert Stern’s Jazz on a Summer’s Day, Newport Jazz Festival, 1960.
Even if you are not a devoted jazz fan, there is so much to enjoy in this film, apart from some of the greatest jazz performances ever by Thelonious Monk, Louis Armstrong, Gerry Mulligan, George Shearing, Anita O’Day, and so many others.
To put it mildly, it is beyond cool!
Enjoy!
