“If you choose your subject selectively, intuitively, the camera can write poetry.”

~ Harry Callahan

Harry was certainly one of the greatest 20th Century poet-photographers. Over many years his constant inspiration was his wife Eleanor and daughter Barbara. He was also a renowned teacher at both the Institute of Design in Chicago and the Rhode Island School of Design and was a hero to a whole new generation of talented photographers. He encouraged his students to turn their cameras on their own lives, leading by example as evidenced here by one of his most tender images of his family.
