A story about wild horses, cowboys, and an aviator “Misfits” competes with old Hollywood itself for drama. As it happened, “Misfits” turned out to be the final film of both actors pictured in Morath’s photograph. Gable died just 10 days after filming finished and Monroe lived on for another year and a half.
