But it is beautiful when you feel your body is working”~ Henri Cartier Bresson I think Henri is being unduly modest here, but that was his demeanor. I was quite shocked the first time I met him. He lived extremely modestly for the most celebrated and famous photographer in the world. No pretense at all, and not a single one of his photographs adorned his walls. He knew who he was.What is perhaps not well known is that he created an extraordinary body of work like this rare image in the American South. He traveled under the name of “Hank Carter" so no one would know who he was when he checked into a small motel.
