John Cohen photographed the young Bob Dylan on a NewYork rooftop on Third Avenue in the spring of 1962. As a document of a young artist, when things were just taking form, before a recognizable look had become concrete, these images capture a brilliant artist when he was tasting his first success. A fellow musician- the photographer John Cohen played with the New Lost City Ramblers- there is a delightful complicity between photographer and subject. Main Collection
