Raymond Cauchetier

"Photos de Cinéma: Autour de la Nouvelle Vague 1958-1968"

In 1959, Raymond Cauchetier was hired as the on-set photographer for Jean-Luc Godard's first film, "A Bout de Souffle" ("Breathless"). He subsequently worked for over a decade with the most renowned Nouvelle Vague directors. Taking a more photojournalistic approach than his colleagues of the time, Cauchetier captured many instantly recognizable and pivotal moments behind the scenes of the French New Wave. This historically significant, hardbound volume beautifully presents over one hundred of Raymond Cauchetier's on-set images of the likes of Godard, Francois Truffaut, Claude Chabrol, Jean-Pierre Melville, Jean Seberg, Jean-Pierre Belmondo, Jeanne Moreau, Francoise Dorleac, Anouk Aimee, Anna Karina, Jean-Pierre Leaud, Henri Serre, Oskar Werner, and many, many more. The text of this book is written in French.
